Hello all,

Do you want to see your name to be the wizard who installs
GNU/Linux in your friends' computer?

Or have your name widely known as the author or contributer
to the world of open source software?

Do you realise that just like being a superhero, the life of
a software programmer is filled with responsibilites and
weighty ethical decisions? Want to know more?

If yes, then continue reading.

We are glad to announce the 12th edition of "I Know What
You Are Going to Do This Summer" [1], a free (as in freedom),
online (IRC-based) [2] training programme with sessions for
new comers to get started with Free / Libre / Open Source Software
at #dgplug on irc.freenode.net [3].

If you are a mentor, or trainer, or prospective enthusiast who would
like to participate in this year's sessions please go through last
year's IRC logs:
http://www.dgplug.org/irclogs/

This year we will be spending lots of time, learning about
ethics in programming and in life and the consequences of the
code we write.

The session timings are mostly varying, usually after 1900 IST every day.

To participate, you need a good internet connection and any latest
Linux Distribution installed (the latest version of fedora is preferred. [4])
And an open mind with a strong attitude to learn.
Anyone can participate.

We do get participants from all across the world, so this is real
chance for you to make friends in a community that spans the globe.

What we teach?
===============

Through this training we build contributors. Upon completing this
training you will be able to successfully contribute to upstream
projects, you will know the tools used by different upstream
projects and yes, we will teach you how to solve real life problem
using the Python programming language.

Guest sessions
=============

Through out the training we organize special sessions from well known
upstream contributors. They share their own stories, and conduct in-depth
sessions on various subjects.

To know more
=============

[5] is an interview on opensource.com about this training. [6] is the
talk we had in PyCon 2014 on the same topic.

How to participate?
====================

If you are interested in participating, you just need to join the
mailing list and the IRC channel. (details given below)
This training is open to anyone and everyone, so share the news
