<div>Currently i have a BSNL dial up gsm gprs connection for internet. i have failed trying to connect it by the following three ways :</div><div>after having been connecting my mobile phone using the data cable, </div><div>
method 1:</div><div>Using the GUI : gonig through netwok connection icon on the top right corner of the Gnome desktop</div><div>creating a mobile broadband connection with appropiate APN and number, no connection is detected.</div>
<div>using terminal :</div><div>applying command --> /etc/init.d/NetworkManager restart         as root user , restarts the network manager but doesn't helps to establish any connection.</div><div>no connection is shown by left click on the network connection icon.</div>
<div><br></div><div>method 2:</div><div>after being a root user and using the following commands / procedure :</div><div>#wvdialconf</div><div>shows that a usb modem is detected.</div><div>after that using</div><div>#vim /etc/wvdial.conf</div>
<div>on editng the file at points where ';' signs were there by removing them i saved the file, with </div><div>phone no: *99***3#</div><div>user name:dj</div><div>password:dj</div><div>at specified points.</div><div>
i have even tried by only givung the phone number and removing ';' for the other two fields.</div><div>after this on using </div><div>#wvdial</div><div>shows trying to connect and many other things to give the primary and secondry DNS numbers</div>
<div>on pasting the dns numbers in Network configuration dialouge box (got from system>adminstration >network)</div><div>and hence on saving it shows an un handeled error as follows in  a dialouge box with 3 tabs "save file , debug , quit ":</div>
